Juniors

Applying

so as you can guess, I am a junior in high school. My school has 5 grades instead of the regular 4, so we have a 13th grade (Super Seniors).

I am unsure when I should start applying to colleges, especially since I will not be attending university until the Fall of 2027.

- I graduate in the Spring of 2027 due to the extra year

- I am duel enrolled at the community college in my area, so I am taking high school classes as well as college classes

- I am sure about some colleges I would like to go to.

When would be the best time to start applying to college in my current state?

My school has 4 grades so I can't really say anything about having 5 grades. I think you should start applying close your (super senior) year. As of right now I would be using this time to consider colleges and network with people at different colleges withing your state and evaluate a final pick. Although, some people change their minds last second it is always good to have a few more options. I have seen many people waste their time junior year by not gaining knowledge on college options and some didn't even know how to apply or where they wanted to go along with their major.
