Planning to take AP Physics 1&2 senior year— if you took the class, or are taking it currently, was it as bad as people say? Also, will not taking it make me a weaker applicant or will it not change much?
I want to challenge myself but is it really important to take the class? my other aps in senior year will be spanish, statistics, and psychology. I have no physics background (nobody does who takes ap physics at my school) but I have taken other challenging stem classes like ap bio, chemistry, calculus bc
All honesty? I never understood why everyone makes such a big deal out of them, or why the pass rate is so low, but if you lock in, you can learn all of AP Phys 1 on khan academy in like an hour. Phys 2 just builds off phys 1 stuff and its really easy (as a reference I'm taking AP Phys C: Mech and its simple but for whatever reason nobody gets it). One reccomentation, finish or concurrently enroll in Calc before taking it. That being said, all 4 AP Phsyics AP Exams changed this year, and an entire unit (fluids) got moved from Phys 2 to Phys 1. Doesn't rly impact you tho bc ur taking both.
TL;Dr its really easy if you lock in, khanacademy is your best friend, I'd review the new way the test will be administered cuz its weird
hope this helps!
Thank you this is so helpful! I took bc calculus sophomore year so i might be a bit rusty but i’m sure it’ll still help
I’m taking it currently and honestly it’s just super fast-paced. If you hate science, dont take it. If you like science okay, take it, it’s not that bad. Just make sure ya pay attention, use sites like khan academy or watch videos on what you dont understand, and probably work with people through the class. Good luck, I wish you the best :))
thank you I love khan academy lol
I'm taking ap physics as a junior and it sure is rigorous but if you're interested in physics I bet you could pass. Just be prepared to work really hard.
