I'm currently in 11 grade but I do hybrid school so I should be in 12 grade by the end of this week I am currently 15 years old and I am thinking should I wait a year to go to college to be with people my age(My birthday was in August:) or should I go and get it over with but I think if I do that I won't be able to really enjoy it because Im so young the year I'm supposed to graduate is 2027 but I plan to graduate June of 2025 I just need 5 more credits to graduate SO CLOSEEEE but yeah any thoughts anyone????
You could go either way. I could have graduated a year earlier because I had all my credits but I choose not to for multiple reasons. 1) I used the last year to improve my chances of getting a higher merit scholarship from the university I want to attend. 2) I started taking DE classes full time online with my local cc. I picked classes that would transfer directly into my degree. I am paying $209 a class versus thousands of dollars per credit for 3-4 credit classes!! So this is a HUGE financial help to me.
Just weigh the pros and cons of each. Also, think about yourself. Do you feel ready? Do you think you are ready to succeed in college? Be honest with yourself and get advice from trusted adults and friends.
Hope this helps and lmk if you have any questions!
Thank you so much for this I really needed that I think I should take thought into it If I am really for college now at my age I'm supposed to be taking dual enrollment classes in the winter too so that could help with my college classes
That sounds like a great idea! I highly recommend communicating with your community college to find out what credits are most easily transferable to the most universities OR pick a university that partners with them. My cc has a partnership with the uni I want to go to, so the uni had a special filter where I could type in the uni class and find the cc equivalent options. Lmk if you need any more advice!
