You should start as soon as possible. I think they even offer scholarships to 8th graders (although very rarely). The sooner you start, the more experience you will have by senior year, which is the year that most scholarships look for.

I would start as soon as possible. there are scholarships everywhere. you can type key words in what you applies to you in the google search bar for easier finds.
