My name is Hope Olaniyan. I'm from Canada and applying to UC schools as an international student. Does anyone have any advice on how to pay for school? US schools are very expensive for international students. Please help!

Hi! I see that you are a international student so I would suggest signing up for two websites:

Bold.org: https://bold.org/scholarships/bold-org-top-friend-scholarship/nomination/#find-valuable-financial-aid-awards-for-school-upcoming-deadlines

Bold has scholarships for international students specifically!

They have plenty of scholarships for academic achievements. You create a free account and add information about yourself, future plans, and grades. You also have the opportunity to connect to your colleges.

Academic scholarships usually require a higher GPA than other scholarship types. Students who hold a GPA between 3.5 to 4.0 typically stand out the most to institutions awarding academic scholarships. I hope this helps!

Edit: I would advise you check: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/finding-a-job/high-paying-jobs-for-college-students

Good luck!

Since your name is Hope and I have a friend named hope who is a girl I will safely assume you identify as a woman which means Pageants are something that would be open o you. In the US we hold pageants and even though they are under the pre-conceived notion of beauty queens with nothing behind the makeup that's completely wrong it's a lot of smart leadership-driven women who are winning 30k + in scholarship money for each pagent. Pageants are a great way a lot of women make money for college very quickly and a great option for intelligent women to meet other like-minded women.

Though it does vary from person to person depending on their specific background. It really depends what schools you are applying to and what scholarships they offer to international students. You should also consider looking at private scholarships and loans. Hope that helps :)
