I really want to be anesthesiologist, and one of the schools have a really great program that I can attend to....
Your odds of admission to any school in the Southwest will depend on your entire applicant profile. Here are the main things that colleges take into consideration when they review applications:
- Your unweighted and weighted GPAs
- Course rigor
- Standardized test scores
- Class rank and awards
- Letters of recommendation
- Essays
- Extracurricular activities
You can see how competitive each of your application components is for the the schools you are applying to by using CollegeVine's chancing engine. I also recommend taking a look at this blog post to learn more about the educational track you will need to follow to become an anesthesiologist or pursue other medical careers. Hope this helps!
The location of the schools don't really matter, its the schools acceptance rate. You should look up the acceptance rate of the school you want to get into and you can even look it up on CollegeVine using the chancing simulator to see how likely you will be in getting into it. Thing is, the program could have a different acceptance rate than the college itself, so you should look up the programs acceptance rate.
