I'm a prospective law student, and my dream is to go to a prestigious law school. I'm a freshman (c/o 2025) with a current ACT score of 31 and a 4.1 GPA, I placed all-region in band, I'm on varsity bowling, and I've written a few novels, so considering everything, I'm fairly confident that I could get a good scholarship or full ride for my undergraduate by the time I begin applying to colleges. However, this leaves me with the issue of paying for law school, especially if I want to attend a more prestigious school. My parents have stated they will not contribute funds and it's typically very hard to work a steady job during law school, so I'm hoping there's some sort of scholarship programme for Juris Doctorate degrees. Does anyone know of such a thing, or any way, for that matter, I could help myself now to pay for law school in the future? I should also note that I skipped a year of schooling and I will not be of legal working age (16) until the second semester of my junior year, which means I will have less time to work and save money during college.
Thanks.
I recommend focusing on applying to the top law schools in the US - this is because they offer the most merit aid, which is automatically awarded to high-achieving accepted applicants. Having an exceptional LSAT score, high undergraduate GPA, or a unique background can all help you receive a merit scholarship.
The closest program to what you are looking for is Knight-Hennessy Scholars. Those who are selected to this highly selective program receive a full ride to pursue a degree in any graduate program at Stanford, include JD degrees. Hope this helps!
