For context: I am a rising junior attending a great public boarding school in a nice area about an hour away from home. My family is well-off and I could afford college if it was based on my parent's salary alone, but I have three younger siblings and am trying to pay for as much as I can on my own. I am a straight A/B student, 1150 PSAT, and I am in eight clubs. What scholarships could help me pay for college and how do I get more?
Hi there,
You can check out some great scholarship websites that I've listed below to help you pay for college:
bold.org: some really great and simple scholarship essay questions. There's a bunch of them where it's specific to a certain state/major/background so the chances of you getting them are higher (if you're applicable for them).
Raise Me: This is a great website for getting "micro scholarships" - basically you get rewarded money from certain colleges based on your accomplishments. For example, getting straight A's or B's can earn you some money from some colleges. Being in different extracurriculars, having awards, getting good test scores (like the PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc.), and so on can also earn you money.
collegevine: There's a scholarship drawing every week on collegevine. You're probably already entering the drawing already, but I thought I would mention it just in case.
Cappex and Niche are also good scholarship websites to help you pay for college.
To get more scholarships, I would apply for ones that seem more "difficult" because less people apply for them (often because it does take up more time). Additionally, just apply for a variety of scholarships to increase your chances.
I really hope that this helps! :)

Thank you! I have been using Bold.org and Raise me, but I will definitely start applying for the harder ones and I just entered the drawing for this week!
