Where do I find local scholarships?
Answered

I've seen a lot of people recommend local scholarships rather that national ones, and I was wondering where people find these scholarships. I live in DFW Texas and so far I haven't seen any for my area.

Hi! Hope the scholarship search is going well!

The first thing I would do is talk to your guidance counselor. They have helped students in the past and I'm sure they are more than willing to help you find scholarships that would best fit you. I know many high schools have sections on their websites that post some scholarship opportunities, so I would also look there.

Personally, my school gives seniors a packet of local scholarships on the first day of school. I'm not sure if your school does something similar, but again, I'd ask the guidance counselors.

Next I would simply look up "DFW Texas scholarships." You could also look up "Texas scholarships." I'm sure something is bound to pop up. You can also look up multiple scholarship websites and the narrow down your region.

Hope this helps and good luck!!
