I am a indian.
I am class 9 and I am willing to study in top universities .I need financial aids so does college provide scholarships or financial aids.
Hi @LakshayaBalakrishnan!
Most US colleges determine financial aid using something called the Expected Family Contribution. You fill out the FAFSA and CSS, and they will spit out a number that your family could afford for college expenses.
Most top US colleges will meet the full demonstrated need for applications, meaning you will not have to pay more than your Expected Family Contribution. However, for international applications, these colleges are generally need-aware for admissions. That means a college will consider how much an international applicant would be able to pay when deciding whether to admit them.
Only seven colleges both meet full need and are need-blind for international applicants. Those are: Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Yale, Dartmouth, Amherst, and Bowdoin. Schools that offer full financial aid usually don't offer seperate scholarships, so your main priority would just be getting in.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi @LakshayaBalakrishnan!
Yes, top colleges in the US will provide financial aid based on your financial condition. However, not all colleges will meet 100% of demonstrated financial need.
