Does SAT scores have an impact on fees in Houston community college?
Answered

Hey! I re-took my SATs on June 3, 2023, and only got 990 as my final score. Since my family and I are migrating to the U.S. this August, I don't know about the fee structure of HCC.

Can someone please say if my SAT scores have an impact on my fees? Like will it be less costly if I got my score above 1000?

Thank you.

Technically yes, it may be less costly if you have a higher SAT score because of things like merit scholarships, but to my knowledge HCC doesn't award very many scholarships to F1 visa students. I'd check the HCC Foundation website for more detailed info on specific scholarships HCC offers that you might qualify for. In addition, try contacting their financial aid office as HCC advisors can give you a clearer picture of your personal cost of attendance.

One thing I recommend looking into is the HCC honors program, and seeing if you can qualify for it because honors students get additional financial support, along with other benefits. I wish you the best of luck!
