How should I set up my art portfolio when applying to art schools?
Your portfolio should encompass all your work in the best quality possible. If you have physical work, it should be scanned with a high-quality scanner or photographed in natural light. The size, materials and length of working time should also be encompassed, I just used photoshop to add a simple white banner and black text right under the image. And, of course, ignore me if you're a digital artist.
File your portfolio in variety of ways, from a Google Drive folder, a single pdf, or a printed portfolio (which is what I recommend, not too expensive at Staples). These are all great if said school has a submission portal. However some don't, and just ask for a link to a website. The website doesn't have to be brilliantly designed, so even Google Sites could work provided your informations there.
Submit these with your general app, and also keep in mind: different colleges have different perspectives! Check their websites and see what they want, in terms of how to submit and also what to submit. Hope this could help!
