How am I supposed to know how much I will pay for a college before applying.

There's net price calculators online to factor in finacial aid and such. It'll give you an estimate for YOU, not just the tuition price. These won't calculate in different scholarships though.

You can visit a school's website and look for their admissions -> costs page. It usually shows how much it costs with tuition, meals, housing and other perks that the school offers. This does not factor in scholarships or grants you have. But this helps you gauge how much it is per school to help you decide whats best. Good luck!
