Hey everyone! I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for good schools for biochem/molecular bio majors, ideally schools with a good amount of research as well as coursework because that's where a lot of the fun is for me.
Additionally, I would also love any suggestions for schools with good biochem/molecular bio programs that also do zoology/wildlife stuff, as I love animals and am wondering how I can interact with wildlife through research as opposed to veterinary medicine.
I spent all of last summer researching schools for this exact career field! Let me save you some time and give you some thoughts now that all my apps are in:
Reaches:
Yale - Check out their MCDB program! Top-notch!
Harvard - Everyone rates them as the best...
Johns Hopkins - Top 5 for Molecular Biology & Research Heaven (lots of freshman start right away)
UPenn - Great for your interest area, although I don't know too much about research TBH...
Harder Targets:
UCSD - Extremely Underrated... They get the most molecular biologists on the planet
UW Madison - Quality, but I don't think they are the easiest to get accepted into research programs
UWashington - Another great research school!
Others:
UC Berkley, Duke, and UNC might be good too...
Hi! Here are some schools that might help.

Thank you! I appreciate this and I hope your admissions are going well. Great minds think alike, as a couple of these were on my mental list but this is incredibly helpful.
