Does increasing my ACT/SAT score give me more merit based scholarship $$ from schools?
Answered

I have an okay ACT score right now, but I want to know if increasing it will give me more chances at scholarship money or are scholarships based off of other things entirely? I'm new to the whole scholarship thing sorry!

Yes! Especially in addition to your grades, you may be able to get more scholarships.

Unless the merit scholarship goes based off of test scores, no. Most (from the schools I applied to) are based on GPA and class rank.

The higher the ACT, the more competitive of an application you are. Scholarships can be based on essays and activities alone while other can also ask for GPA and ACT.
