School list

Hi!

Next year I would be doing 11 year in Ohio and I already started in my school list. I heard 8 school as maximum is the target but I don’t know. My top choices are Stanford, MIT and Berkeley, Richmond university American international college, USC Fresno,George Washington university, Rutgers and Blue Montain and I guess some more.

How do I know I am not going to far with Stanford and MIT it if it is a good list?

Thank you so much!

I admire your initiative by starting making a list early. It is okay to apply to many schools. However, this can cause you to spread yourself to thin. If you only apply to a few schools then you can devote your time to those applications and increase your chances of getting in.

To narrow down your list you have a few things you can do. First, I recommend choosing a major. You can change your mind as time goes on, so don’t pressure yourself too much. If you know what you want to major in than you can eliminate schools that don’t have that major.

Next, take virtual tours to see if you like the campuses. If you don’t then remove from your list. You can also contact any friends you have that attend (or are alumni of) schools you are interested in. They may be able to provide you some insight.

Good luck in all of your applications and have a nice night!
