While we know the Ivies are supposedly the "best" in the US, what do you guys think of these 4? Personally, I'm applying to Cornell, Columbia, and Harvard (really only hoping to get into Cornell). Are any of you applying to Ivies? Let me know!
According to the QS world ranking, it's Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Cornell. However, don't go to a school that doesn't fit you. Everyone's fit is different, so if you want to go to the Cornell, make sure it fits you. Don't go to Cornell just because it's an Ivy.
I personally want to go to Yale because I think it fits me. Yale is a good school for social science areas, and I have a big interest in the social science areas. Well, Harvard is the best uni for the social science (according to the QS), but I don't think I'm good enough for Harvard so I decided not to apply.
Anyway, good luck on your college application!
Don't worry, being an Ivy is not the only reason I'm applying. Since I live in New York State, I'm applying to one of the SUNY schools at Columbia (the ILR school). The tuition should be cheaper, plus I enjoy what the major stands for and the classes that are required. Not to mention, I know people who have gone and they all say that I would be a great fit and that I would love it!
Columbia is a similar story, living in NYS, plus I would love to live in the city! Harvard is such a long shot, I truly just want to see if I would get in (I doubt I will!).
Good luck with your Yale Application! I'm sure you're a great fit, even if you don't think Harvard will take you!
