would attending medical school be the best option or is there another route?
Only you can answer this question. I can't come here and say: "oh, that thing is better," because you have to figure out on your own what's better for you. Of course, there are careers that, on average, people make more money. What is money, though, without a purpose?
I imagine that you might not know what your purpose is yet. But don't freak out: you have a lot of time to figure that out. In college, for example, you will have the opportunity to explore different areas and connect with people from diverse niches to discover what field is the right fit for you.
My advice for you here is to choose a college that gives you the freedom to explore. After that, you're on your own. You have to take advantage of the opportunities presented to you, or you might never find your true purpose.
Best of luck out there!
