Hi, being a student having roots in South-Asia, it is very important for me to find a good public university that provides a decent amount of scholarship to international students. Can someone help me?
When you apply for financial aid, if a college chooses to grant you admission, they could meet one hundred percent of your financial need. This is the case with ivy leagues and a lot of the colleges that are top-ranked like NYU, University of Chicago, etc. But please bear in mind that most, if not all, of these universities have a need-based application policy for international students. This means that your ability to pay your tuition will be a factor in deciding if the college will accept you. Hope that helps!
How much will my test scores and academic scores matter?
A TON. Especially your grades, if you don't have good grades (at least a B student) and are applying to any semi-competitive US college, you're not going to get in. However, if you're a national winner in something or super prestigious in some way, then maybe you could have a bit lower grades because your extracurriculars help to balance it. But, definitely focus on grades, especially as an int'l student.
Will my college grades (scaled in 4.0) be considered same or will I have to convert it in US scale?
4.0 is the regular scale
