What's the normal age or grade to take an ACT or SAT, should i be looking into this yet? (10th Grade, Sophmore)
I started studying the summer before junior year and I took it both July and September. This is what I found I had the most time to devote to studying and I ended up with a 33.
I think the early test takers are in 10th grade. The "reasonable" grade is in 11th grade and my "one last shot" if you think you can do better is in 12th grade.
I think 10th grade is a good time to start looking into it. I'd also recommend taking a practice of both to see which test you prefer. I personally started studying in May of my sophomore year and took the August SAT, but some of my friends have taken their ACT/SAT sometime in the first half of junior year.
Hope this helps! :)
Most colleges look at your Junior year ACT/SAT scores, so I'd start preparing for it as soon as you can. I'd also encourage taking it this year so you have a feel for the tests.
most sophomores and juniors take the p-sat for scholarship opportunities and start studying for it, but you're eligible to take it during sophomore year. however, most people i know start studying for it in sophomore year and take the actual test (act or sat) in the spring of junior year
Usually junior year or beginning of senior year, but I would recommend taking it once sophomore year if you are aiming for a specific score.
You should take it as soon as possible and start studying for the SATs or ACTs ASAP!
Usually, people take these tests when they are Juniors. However, if you feel like you are prepared, you can take them now. I recommend taking a pretest first. If you do this, then you can see what things you can improve on before taking the actual test.

I'm a freshman and I'm planning on taking my first ACT this year. If I were you, I would also try to take the PSAT junior year (if it is available). In my opinion, the sooner and the more ACT/SATs you take, the better score you have the possibility to get.
