Target and Reach Schools

I have quite a few safety schools, but only two target schools, and one reach school. I would like to be able to build my school list but there are not very many options.

Which schools are considered target for you? Target and reach schools can vary drastically from person to person due to differences in GPA, test scores, and extracurriculars.

My target schools were Southern Methodist University, and UT Austin, however, I realize now, that because of my filters and such, it's probably accurate.

Greetings MightyPiranha,

What do you mean by "there are not very many options"?

If you are looking at international colleges, then find the acceptance rates for those separately and categorize them.

If you are looking at small-town, obscure community colleges that are not on the CollegeVine list, then that is unfortunate. Contact them for an answer.

If you are exceptionally smart and have developed a "spike" (which is what the top 25 or so colleges look for), and colleges like Duke or UNC count as "safety" for you, then you are indeed right- there aren't very many options for you. Keep all the elite colleges on your list and pat yourself on your back, because there's nothing else you can really do.

Regards,

Eric B.
