Hi! I'm looking at a lot of colleges abroad, and someone suggested I check out Ithaca or Syracuse because they have campuses in London. Can someone explain what that actually means? Is it just a study abroad program without actually going to a different school, or is it a completely separate university altogether?
These campuses are both outposts of Ithaca and Syracuse meant for semester/summer-long study abroad programs. While most universities will arrange for their students to live and study at partner universities abroad, Syracuse and Ithaca have set up their own class buildings and dorms in London. This arrangement makes it easier for study abroad students to: take classes that count for relevant credit back home, pay for their program, get visas, and find housing. From the administrative side, it is almost like these students never left Syracuse or Ithaca. Hope this helps!
