schools like swarthmore?
I took a tour of Swarthmore College today and I love the atmosphere! It seems really enjoyable for creative people like me (im planning to major in English with a focus in creative writing) and I'm wondering about similar liberal arts colleges ??
My downfall of applying to Swarthmore is that my SAT score is lower than their avg, but my other stats are pretty high
Hi! Swarthmore is a great school, and there are plenty of other colleges that offer a similar vibe with the potential to be more of a target/safety school or as a more affordable school. Bard College is beautiful, and the University of Vermont is also lovely. Bryn Mawr and Haverford, Swarthmore’s “Sister” schools, are also awesome. Wheaton College has the suburban feel that Swarthmore does, and also has the proximity to a large city, but it is in the Midwest (it’s also Christian, so if you’re not into that, May not be the best.) I’m less knowledgeable on these two, but Colgate University and Hamilton College seem to have a similar feel from what I’ve heard. I hope this helps and I hope it isn’t overwhelming. Take your time to decide which places you enjoy and which you don’t. I wish you the best of luck in your college endeavors!
