I’ve slightly overdosed on MIT Admissions Blogs/various YouTube videos, and the vibe I get from them is really cool. It seems like students do a lot of wacky/creative/spontaneous stuff, but are also really passionate about learning. They also seem to have a decent amount of fun?
I’m not necessarily looking for the other “great STEM/engineering schools,” but rather schools with similar cultures. In fact, a more balanced school would be awesome. Any suggestions?
WPI, Colorado College, U Chicago, Middlebury (they're liberal arts though), Boston University
UCLA or USC, or UChicago
I would say that Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Worcester Polytechnic Institute both have the balanced culture you are looking for in a STEM school. Hope this helps!
