This might be a dumb question, but would anyone suggest to even go to a prestigious college if I'm majoring in real estate?
It depends on what you want to do. If you are interested in global real estate, real estate investing, managing large real estate agency, or the financial side of real estate (e.g. high level jobs involving mortgages), then a degree from a top school will be a great asset for you. This is the case because many of these real estate career paths require graduate degrees, and having a prestigious undergrad education will increase your odds of admission.
That being said, there are plenty of great careers in real estate that do not require any higher education, e.g. being a realtor or real estate appraiser. Hope this helps!
