Hello, I'm currently a junior in highschool and am really trying to start looking closer into my college plans. I am interested in going for film/cinematography or animation. I have a few schools in mind but I'm looking for opinions of others. If you can help at all I would really appreciate it.
Hey there @Emily.S!
I've found a few good sources for curating a school list that includes safeties, targets, and reaches. They are:
1. CollegeVine. Under the 'Schools' tab you can create a list of schools that interest you, and CollegeVine will let you know if they would be safeties, targets, hard targets, or reaches for you. You can also compare your GPA, SAT/ACT scores, coursework, and extracurriculars with the averages for that school.
2. If you've taken College Board tests, such as APs, PSATs, or SATs, you can use College Board to make a list of schools that interest you. College Board will help you filter out schools by location, religious affiliation, and other factors.
3. Niche. Niche is a website that ranks colleges and universities by different factors, such a programs they offer, location, and religious affiliation. You can also make an account to take their quiz that will recommend schools specifically for you.
4. Peterson's is a website that offers test prep classes and worksheets, scholarship searches, and information about many schools. The website will give you a brief overview about a school, including programs they offer, acceptance rates, and school diversity.
I hope at least one of these sources can help you, and I wish you good luck with your college journey!
hi-fellow junior here! i don't know much abt your stats, but looking at schools' "admitted student profile" for the most recent class or even watching videos on "how i got into insert school" can give you a good idea of where u could get in!
