Should I give up my dream and join a local university or should I keep on pursuing my dream?

I'm an international student and due to certain circumstances, I was not able to apply for the 2023 intake and I just graduated in December 2022.It has always been my dream to study at MIT but I'm not sure if I should apply this year for 2024 intake cause that means I will almost be taking an involuntary gap year. And what should I do in 2023 to improve my chances of getting into MIT.

I would say that you should study at your local university in the meantime, and then apply to MIT for 2024. If you are rejected from MIT, you can continue your university studies. If you are accepted, then you can transfer to your dream school as a well-prepared freshman. Hope this helps!

I say go follow your dreams, but stay safe about it; you might not get in. Best of luck to you, and sorry for the late response. :)
