What kind of credentials should I have if I want to get into University of Virginia?

Hello everyone,

I am just starting out in high school and wondering what classes I should take and what my grades should look like if I want to get into UVA. I had a 4.32 weighted GPA last quarter and had straight As as well. Do you think this would be good enough? Thanks.

The classes you should take depend on the course offerings at your school. UVA, like all top universities, will want to see that you are taking the most rigorous classes available to you. If your school has a full array of APs/IBs, you should take at 8-12 during your high school career. If your school offers honors only, take as many as you can and see if dual enrollment would be a possibility as well.

When it comes to your unweighted GPA, the average accepted student has a 3.7 or above - you will want to match that. Earning mostly straight As, with only a few Bs and no more than one C will get you there.

Hope this helps!
