Will taking DE Chemistry help improve my chances of getting into the school of my choice?

Hi everyone,

I am currently on track to take Dual-Enrollment Chemistry next year. Do you think this will help to impress colleges? If not, which courses should I consider taking? Thanks!

Hi @david373!

If you're talking in terms of course rigor, then yes. If you're expecting to earn college credit for it, it won't necessarily transfer to all colleges. If you have the option, taking AP Chemistry would be a better choice (it's seen as more rigorous than DE and transfers to more places than DE).

Hope this helps!

Dual Enrollment chemistry is a great course to take. Colleges love rigor courses, especially math and science courses as they are generally harder. If you worried about transferring credit, it is not that much of a problem. Colleges are willing to accommodate. Believe me, I transferred credit already and it was not a hassle. :)
