Mechanical Engineering in the North East

What are some colleges to consider for mechanical engineering majors, in general and if possible specifically in the propulsion engineering? Preferably in the North East or the Great Lakes area.

It would be a huge bonus if there is a ski area within reasonable driving distance!

This is completely based on your overall profile as a student. If you’re looking for top programs, MIT and Princeton are the places to go, but those are extremely competitive. From what I have seen there are some other options:

- Lehigh University, PA - Ranked in Top 100 For Mechanical Engineering and is around half an hour from Blue Mountain Ski Resort and the College Actual Takes Regular Trips Up There As a Student Event. 37% Acceptance Rate

- University of Rochester, NY- It is Ranked #42 in Mechanical Engineering in the Country and Even Has Its Own Ski Team—There Are Multiple Ski Resorts in The Area. 39% Acceptance Rate

- UConn, CT- Top 100 In Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Has Its Own Ski and Snowboard Club, Although the Nearby Ski Resorts Range More Around a 45-50 Minute Drive. 55% Acceptance Rate.

Best of Luck on Your Search! Hope This Helps!
