with a gpa of 2.2-5 how cooked am i at getting into a good college?
Answered

my freshman year right before second semester i went through a horrible breakup and then two days later my mom died. the lack of will to live from these things severely tanked my grade. then sophomore year i was in a mentally and physically abusive relationship. junior year over summer i had an altercation with a girl and was expelled before second semester and put on probation. maybe i can make this into a great college essay? idk man.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I think you have a shot at a few universities, but it'd probably be best to do community college and transfer to a state university through an automatic admission program. I only say that because financial aid may or may not be in your favor going straight from high school to university.

Hey man,

This is absolutely terrible to hear. Really sorry that this happened to you.

To answer your question, though, I think that you have a decent chance at state university, or you can try starting at a lower-prestige college and transferring when you are ready. I do believe that you can try explaining your circumstances in the Additional Info section of you are using Common App. Admissions officers will try to look at your application based on that. Hope this helps.
