Hey!
I go to a rural school district (approx 75 kids a grade...) in the Midwest. I'm planning on pursuing a major in either history or political science. Does anyone have any recommendations for above and beyond extracurriculars? I'm only a freshman so I still have time, but I want to stand out for applications! I'm already in 4-H & FFA (of course), Speech and Debate, Student Council, and student philanthropy.
I would recommend finding volunteer programs near you or internships in the city closest to you. I know that's probably not much help but I'm in the same position as you and that is what I've been doing.
AYY TWINS yeah I find it super hard to find extracirriculars that actually matter because there's NOTHING around. Try to get into leadership positions, get volunteer hours. Honestly what I do is work (at the elementary school), volunteer (also for kids' events, gardening in the town, private businesses, the hospital, literally anywhere that will allow me :') ), and I'm in Key Club and NHS. If you can, join NHS and do a little bit within it. Sorry I'm not much help, but I get the struggle <3 good luck!!
To keep this community safe and supportive:
Thanks!! <3
