Major Suggestions

I am a Junior and have no idea what to major in in college. I dislike math and science. I love English and social studies. I am very studious and love school. I love working with kids. I have a strong passion for choir and theater. My dream major is Musical Theater or Vocal performance. Unfortunately, my parents want me to do something more practical. :( One of my main goals in life is to make 6 figures but also enjoy my job. Right now I am thinking about becoming a lawyer. I also want to double major in music if possible. Does anybody have any majors or college reconditions?

Thank you so much!

Hey! You could try majoring in something writing-related like Second English Language Arts since you said you love working with kids. As a person who immigrated to a different country in which I didn't speak English, I can tell you those teachers were a blessing. Lawyer is a good career too but there's like 7 different types of lawyers you could be as well as it's a LONG college education time for that. You could also major in Technical Writing which is a teaching thing; it teaches students how to write professionally, preparing them for a potential career in publishing, documentation, or corporate communications. I know that Stanford has a great English program as well as UCLA, USC, UC Berkeley, Pomona LMU, and UCSD.
