I am a freshman right now. My test is on October 23rd so I have 26 days to work for the test. I want to study 1.5 hours a day, working on practice. I couldn't find any books or tests. How can I properly study?
I am currently doing AP Computer Science, AP World History, and 3 Honors.
I mainly want to work on Algebra skills and proper grammar.
Just got my 36 back from the ACT! If I'm being honest, for the preACT you should just study for the real one. The Princeton Review has a really good book for it, and your local library will have plently of books. My reccomendation is to spend your first 2 weeks reviewing any book of your choice (the fat ones are great). Check the number of pages of study stuff (NOT THE PRACTICE TESTS!) and divide them by 14 to find the number of pages Per day. Then, on Sundays, you also take a full practice test from the book, with test like conditions (water, calculator, sitting in one spot, no music, clock in front, etc.) and only take breaks that you will actually get. Ofc the exam differs a bit but this is largely what will help you improve your score & manage your time better! Once you get your practice scores back, go back to the specific concept you got wrong, even if it was a stupid mistake, and study it after your exam (on exam days you only test and review, don't study anything new). I would also reccomend waching Preaching P's "How to get a 36 on the ACT" to help w strategization. Hope this helps!
Hello, I recommend going to your counselors to ask for help, they might be able to help. MyAPclassroom, on the collegeboard.com, lets you take practice tests depending on your needs. Khan Academy is amazing for free review as I took a practice SAT and it asked me about material going back to 5 grade, so you should revise everything you can from 1st grade to 9th since you are in your freshmen year, Khan academy is such an underrated aid, it works for me and I'm in my senior year, try to get good sleep before your test!
