No AP,IB, or HONOR courses availible at my school
Answered

Hello, my name is Hope and I'm applying to UCLA in 2024. The high school I attend doesn't offer any AP,IB, or HONOR courses and I know UCLA usually looks for that when looking at applicants application. Would this affect my application? I did however make honor roll in grade 9, hoping I'll make honors roll again this year and in grade 11, and 12. Thank you

Hi @hxoqa,

As long as you hit the UCs' A-G requirements and are taking the most rigorous courses possible at your school, this shouldn't reflect negatively on your application.

You can also explore options like Dual Enrollment, online courses, and self-studying for AP tests to demonstrate academic rigor.

Best of luck!

Hello Hope! When looking at your application, colleges take into account whether or not your school offers AP/IB/honors courses. So, since your school does not, it will not reflect negatively on you. Hope this helps!
