My process

I help my students create outstanding and successful applications by tailoring my advising to each student's goals and needs. I have helped my students gain admission to the most selective universities, programs, and scholarships by helping them create thematic applications that highlight their unique character through a holistic approach. I use both quantitative and qualitative metrics to help students develop authentic applications that make them stand out to admissions officers.I provide advising that ranges from specific, targeted guidance for discrete components of the admissions process, such as school lists, personal statements, and interview preparation, to comprehensive advising that covers every aspect of the admissions process from start to finish. Whether I am advising on the whole admissions process or a specific part, I guide my students through every level, from the broad themes to the finest details. I help students develop and position each part of their application in a way that lends something to their overall narrative while also rigorously focusing on the finer points that will set their applications apart from the crowd. I firmly believe that students do their best work when they are comfortable, so I actively work to make the admissions process as exciting and stress-free as possible by helping students manage their approach to their applications and gain perspective on their admissions process.

“Gabe has been extremely helpful to guide my son along the path to college. He is very knowledgeable about the entire process and offered invaluable advice to my son. He is supportive, flexible and always has a positive attitude and demeanor. I chose Gabe as an advisor because I felt that he was the perfect fit: almost like a big brother that my son would actually listen to, rather than just another adult telling him what to do. It worked! I am so grateful for all the guidance and support that Gabe has provided. He was really able to connect with my son and he was extremely knowledgeable about any questions or concerns that happened along the way. We are thrilled with the college that my son selected and if it wasn't for Gabe, we would not have even considered this school. Thank you Gabe for everything! "

“Consulting Gabe was one of the best decisions we took in my son’s college admissions process. Gabe helped us draw up a well-balanced shortlist of colleges to apply to, and walked with us through the whole process. This is what my son has to say: “Gabe is incredibly knowledgeable of the admissions process, and extremely methodical in his approach. Gabe spent quality time in getting to really understand my interests, limitations, and achievements and had me introspect and document my thoughts clearly with very specific examples, which proved invaluable for a whole gamut of essays. As I began work on my essays, Gabe provided very specific feedback on the essay’s content, organization, and style, and relentlessly went through multiple reviews until the essays were just perfect. Gabe is also extremely knowledgeable about mathematics, the major I was applying to, and was able to review arcane technical details! The result was essays that highlighted my best achievements with the right examples, and in which every single statement had a very specific purpose. Gabe is also extremely approachable and was always there to answer questions, or to prepare me for an unexpectedly scheduled interview on short notice, even though it was very late for him!” Thanks to Gabe’s guidance, my son landed an acceptance at a top mathematics program in an Ivy+ institution in an early decision round, which was his dream college. It has been such a pleasure to consult Gabe and have him guide us in this process."
