I've read up on Northeastern and their co-op program, but what I'm really looking for is personal stories. What do you guys think about the balance between work and play, and is the co-op as beneficial as they promise?
Hey there! As a parent with a child at Northeastern, I can share some of what they've told me about their experience. They absolutely love the dynamic campus vibe - there's always something going on. The balance between work and play is real; you've got to manage your time well, especially during co-op terms when working full-time, but it's definitely doable.
The co-op program is a standout feature, no doubt. It's as beneficial as they say because it offers real-world experience and networking opportunities that you just don't get in a classroom setting. My child secured a co-op at a renowned tech company and it significantly enriched their resume. It requires initiative and self-discipline, but the preparation and support from the co-op advisors are top-notch.
Keep in mind though, everyone's experience is unique, and much of it depends on your field of study and personal goals. Hope this helps!
