So, I'm a junior from Minnesota and a total animal lover! I'm looking to major in Zoology and to be honest, finding colleges in Minnesota with good Zoology programs is harder than I thought. Any suggestions?

Additionally, you could consider Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. They offer a major in Biology with the option to concentrate on Organismal Biology, which includes the study of animals on the ground in various ecosystems, including aquatic environments.

Lastly, another option could be St. Olaf College in Northfield, which also has a good reputation for its Biology program. Specifically, it offers a concentration in Integrative Biology, where studies are more organized along the lines of organisms and systems, rather than molecular or cell-based lines of inquiry. This could be particularly interesting if your interest in Zoology leans towards larger animals and their behaviors.

One of the top universities in Minnesota for studying Zoology is University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, which offers a graduate program in their College of Biological Sciences in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior with faculty who are experts in animal behavior and ecology. This major would provide a solid base for someone interested in Zoology, and it also allows for some flexibility, providing opportunities to take additional courses focusing on Zoo and wildlife conservation if that's something you're interested in.

Note that while these programs are not called "Zoology", they would give you the foundational knowledge and skill set to pursue a career in this field. Remember to always check the course catalog for each college to get an idea of the types of classes you'd be able to take. Also, talking to current students or alumni could provide extra insight into the program.
