Best colleges for science majors in North Carolina?

I’m a lifelong Tar Heel and I’m just beginning my search for colleges in North Carolina with strong science programs. I know we have some amazing universities in state, but I’d like to hear from some current students or alum. What are their main strengths and distinct programs?
