Colleges that Resemble Hogwarts: Are there Any?

Huge Harry Potter fan. Always fantasized about studying in a castle-like scenario just like Hogwarts. Do we have colleges that resemble Hogwarts in the U.S.? Your suggestions are welcome!

Absolutely, there are quite a few universities in the U.S. that sport architecture reminiscent of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Princeton University in New Jersey should be first on your list. The historic Ivy League school has Gothic-style architecture that could easily have been pulled from the Harry Potter series. Plus, with gray stone walls, stained glass windows, and sweeping archways, it's a castle lover's dream. There are even "residential colleges," which operate similarly to the Houses in Hogwarts.

University of Washington in Seattle also has a notable Hogwarts-like structure: the Suzzallo Library. Often referred to as the "Harry Potter Room", the library's main reading room has high ceilings, stained glass windows, and long reading tables that could remind one of Hogwarts' Great Hall.

Georgetown University in Washington D.C. is a Jesuit university with Healy Hall. The edifice resembles a castle, with a large clock tower, gargoyles, and stained glass windows.

Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri also deserves a mention. The Brookings Hall, with its grand, gothic architecture, is often compared to Hogwarts, with its many turrets reminiscent of the magical school's skyline.

And finally, the University of Notre Dame in Indiana has many Gothic-style buildings. The Golden Dome and the Basilica of the Sacred Heart are just a few of the campus features that might remind you of Hogwarts.

So, as you can see, while you might not find moving staircases or talking portraits, you can certainly experience a bit of that Hogwarts magic while getting your degree. Keep a close eye on the atmosphere, the architecture, and the overall vibes of the campus when you're making your decision!
