Is Queens College military-friendly?

Hi folks, Queens College is on my list of potential schools and I plan to serve in the military after college. In anyone's experience, is Queens College supportive of its students who're aiming for a military career?

Queens College in New York City does have a strong commitment to supporting students who are pursuing a military career. They have a dedicated Office of Veterans Affairs on campus that provides resources like advising, forms assistance, and veteran community building. These services can assist students with scheduling and course load balancing to make sure that their academic life goes hand-in-hand with their military goals.

In terms of academic programs, Queens College features the ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) program in collaboration with St. John’s University. Students who enroll in the ROTC program can receive scholarships and stipends while they simultaneously prepare to be commissioned as officers upon graduation. This program offers leadership, management, and other skills/traits desired in military service.

Lastly, according to the Military Friendly® schools list, which is a trusted resource to measure an institution's commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunities for the military community, Queens College has been recognized as a military friendly school too.

Even so, it's still a great idea to reach out to the school directly or connect with current students or alumni in the military to hear their firsthand experiences. As you do this, you'll get a more nuanced understanding of how Queens College supports students aiming for a military career.
