Least expensive college worldwide - are there reliable sources?

I've heard different claims about which is the 'cheapest' college on the planet. Does anyone know of any reliable sources that can provide this ranking information?

Finding a reliable source for the "cheapest" college worldwide can be somewhat tricky due to the varying factors affecting tuition costs. These can include residency status, program type (undergraduate, graduate), study mode (full-time, part-time), degree level (bachelor's, master's, PhD), fee structure changes, financial aid options, and the fact that tuition rates can vary greatly within each country.

Several organizations collect and analyze data on university tuition fees, but these are typically region-specific or country-specific, not global. For instance, in the U.S., the National Center for Education Statistics provides data on costs of attendance for different colleges. In the UK, the Office for Students and Universities UK publishes data about university costs. In Australia, the Department of Education, Skills and Employment keeps an updated list of tuition fees.

However, when you go global, College Board and U.S. News & World Report rank the affordability of U.S. universities but there isn't a main international governing body that provides a comprehensive comparison of tuition costs across all countries.

You might also find some articles or blogs that compile lists of "affordable" or "low-cost" universities worldwide. However, these lists are often not exhaustive and may not be updated frequently.

Always verify the information from such lists directly with the universities in question or by consulting the university's official website. Inquire about any financial aid, scholarships or other cost-reduction options available to international students. Also, keep in mind that the cheapest college might not always be the best college for your specific career goals and interests. Often, the value you get from your education - opportunities for research or internships, strong faculty, advising, a robust curriculum - is more important than the tuition cost.
