Least expensive colleges with famous alumni?

I'm really interested in attending a college that has some notable alumni, but at the same time, I don't want to graduate with loads of debt. Does anyone know of any affordable colleges that also boast famous alumni? Kinda like a 'best of both worlds' situation. Thanks!

Certainly, finding an affordable institution that has produced prominent alumni can strike a great balance between affordability and quality. Here are a few you might want to consider:

1. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC Chapel Hill): UNC Chapel Hill is regarded as a "Public Ivy," known for its rigorous academics at a relatively affordable price for in-state students. It's had its share of notable alumni, like former U.S. President James K. Polk and athlete-entrepreneur Michael Jordan.

2. University of Virginia (UVA): Another public university with a strong reputation and relative affordability, especially for residents of Virginia. Notable alumni include former U.S. President Woodrow Wilson and journalist Katie Couric.

3. University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin): UT Austin provides an excellent education at a price point significantly lower than many other institutions of its caliber. The school's alumni network includes a roster of notable names like actor Matthew McConaughey and former First Lady Laura Bush.

4. University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley): UC Berkeley is known for its strong programs and recognizable alumni, including co-founder of Apple Inc., Steve Wozniak. As a public university, it's more affordable, particularly for California residents.

5. The City College of New York (CCNY): Known as the flagship college of the City University of New York system, CCNY boasts alums like Secretary of State Colin Powell. As a public institution, its tuition is relatively affordable.

Just remember to consider other factors beyond the initial sticker price. Financial aid (if you qualify), cost of living in the area, and potential earnings post-graduation should all be part of your decision process.

Also, keep in mind that a school’s reputation or its list of famous alumni doesn't guarantee success. Every student’s college journey is unique, and your experiences and efforts during your time in college will ultimately define your post-graduation outcomes!
