What military colleges are there in Wisconsin?

Hey, so I'm interested in going to a military college after high school. Can anyone tell me if there are any in Wisconsin, and what kinds of programs might be available there?

In Wisconsin, there's notably the Wisconsin Military Academy. It is located at Fort McCoy and is associated with the Wisconsin Army National Guard. The Academy offers various military training programs.

However, you should note that the Wisconsin Military Academy doesn't function in the same manner as a typical four-year military college like the U.S. Naval Academy or West Point. Instead, it emphasizes military and leadership training rather than offering a broad undergraduate education.

If you're definitely set on a military college experience and are looking for a four-year, degree-awarding institution that combines academic and military disciplines, you might need to broaden your search to institutions in other states.

That being said, depending on your desired career path, you can consider universities in Wisconsin, like Marquette University, which houses one of the nation's top Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) programs. Essentially, these institutions allow you to pursue a standard college education in a field of your choice while participating in military training through the ROTC program. Upon graduation, you commission as an officer in the US military (in the case of Marquette, the Navy or Marine Corps).

Additionally, the Army ROTC program is represented in several colleges and universities across Wisconsin, like the University of Wisconsin (both in Madison and Stout locations). Like the NROTC, these programs prepare you for an officer's role in the military post-graduation.

However, these ROTC programs should not be confused with military colleges. They don't offer the same all-encompassing military environment, but they do allow you to pursue a college degree while preparing for a military commission after your college studies, essentially allowing you to "double-dip" in both civilian and military education.
