What's the common major in college?

Seriously need some help here. All my friends seem to know what they want to major in already, and I'm still figuring it out. If anyone here has any info on what the most common major in college is, I’d appreciate the insight!

Certainly, no need to stress! It's normal to still be figuring out what you want to major in. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the most popular major in U.S. colleges is Business, followed closely by Health Professions and Nursing.

Business degrees are versatile and can open doors to many different career paths in areas like finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Health Professions and Nursing are trending due to the high demand in healthcare, offering rewarding work with a strong outlook in terms of employability and security.

That being said, remember that choosing your major should ultimately align with your personal interests, career goals, and aptitudes, rather than just based on popularity or trends. One approach is to make a list of your interests, then look at what types of majors and eventual careers could align with those. Another tactic is to explore general education courses in your first year, which can provide a broader understanding of potential major subjects.

Remember, it's common for students to change their major as they learn more about what interests them, there's no rush to lock it in immediately. Some students confirm their major even in their second year. Let your educational path be your own journey of discovery.
