What's the most common job after college?

Hey guys, I’d really appreciate some input. I’m trying to think long term here. So what's the norm when it comes to entry-level jobs or careers right after college? Is it industry-specific or something else?

Sure, I'd be glad to help with this. After college, the jobs that students land often depends on their major and the specific industry they're heading into. However, some of the popular roles for recent graduates across a range of disciplines are positions in sales, marketing, data analysis, teaching, software engineering, administrative roles, and healthcare positions for those in related majors.

There's also a significant number who go into consulting or financial services, specifically those who graduate from business or economics programs. As well, individuals who studied computer science or similar fields may find themselves in software development or IT support roles.

Remember, you aren't confined by your major and many graduates find jobs outside of what they studied. Your internships, leadership experiences, and other skills can also be a deciding factor in which type of job you land. For example, even if you studied chemistry, the management skills you developed as president of a club could land you a job in project coordination.

And of course, some students continue their education by going to grad school or professional programs instead of starting a job right away.

Hope this provides some insights into your question. Let me know if you need more specific information!
