Do Military Programs Pay for College?

I'm wondering if there are military programs that would help me pay for college. I've seen a few things about ROTC scholarships, but is there anything else I should know?

Yes, there are various military programs that can help you pay for college. The ROTC scholarships you mentioned are indeed one of these programs. They are offered by each branch of the military, and if you're awarded an ROTC scholarship, the military will cover a substantial amount of your college tuition in exchange for your commitment to serve after graduation.

But beyond the ROTC scholarships, there are more options:

- The Montgomery GI Bill: This bill provides up to 36 months of education benefits to eligible service members and veterans for various educational programs including college, vocational/technical training, apprenticeships, and more. You would be required to contribute a certain amount from your military salary to qualify for these benefits.

- The Post-9/11 GI Bill: This bill provides education benefits for service members who have served on active duty for 90 or more days since September 10, 2001. It covers tuition, a housing allowance, and book costs. The percent of the maximum education benefit you are eligible for depends on your aggregate length of active-duty service.

- Tuition Assistance Program: Active duty, National Guard, and Reserve Component service members may be eligible to use this benefit.

- Yellow Ribbon Program: This program can cover some or all of your tuition and fee costs that the Post-9/11 GI Bill doesn't cover.

Just remember, these programs often entail a service commitment, so it's important to fully understand the requirements and obligations before making a decision. Consult with a military recruiter or veteran's affairs officer to get complete information about these programs and others that you might qualify for.
