Looking for solid info on CLEP exams!

I keep hearing bits and pieces about CLEP exams and how they can help you skip some intro courses in college. But where do I find the most reliable information on what exams are available, how to sign up, the costs involved, etc.? Any pointers would be awesome!

Hey there! You're on the right track—CLEP exams, offered by the College Board, can indeed be a great way to earn college credit for knowledge you already have. The most reliable source of information about these exams is the official College Board website dedicated to CLEP exams (clep.collegeboard.org). It has all the details you need about the different subjects you can test in, exam descriptions, study resources, and also a search tool to find testing centers near you.

As for registration, you'll need to create an account on their website and select a nearby testing center to schedule your exam. Each exam costs $89 as of my last check, but don't forget to factor in any additional administration fees that the testing center may charge. You'll also want to check with the colleges you're interested in attending to see which CLEP exams they accept and what scores you'll need to earn credit—it can vary from school to school.

One last tip: it's a good idea to discuss this with your school counselor as well. They might be able to provide you with additional insights or resources. Best of luck with your exam preparations!
