What's life like at the biggest HBCU campus?

Okay, I get that size isn't everything, but I'm curious about what it's like to be a part of the largest HBCU campus. Can anyone share what it's like to attend, and how the campus size impacts your experience? Social life, resources, opportunities - spill the beans!

Hey there! My son is currently a junior at North Carolina A&T State University, which is known to be one of the largest HBCUs by enrollment.

From what he tells me, the campus size provides a vibrant social scene with lots of events like homecoming week, cultural shows, and guest speakers. There's a real sense of community, and he's never short of networking opportunities which is fantastic for internships and jobs later on. The larger student body also means that the university has a broad range of resources available, from research facilities to student support services. The size has also allowed him to meet a diverse group of people from different backgrounds and majors. In terms of social life, there are numerous clubs and organizations for almost any interest, which makes it pretty easy for students to find their tribe.

He did mention that sometimes the large number of students can mean big class sizes, especially in lower-level courses, but that's balanced by more course options and the chance to learn from a wide array of professors. Overall, he's really enjoying his experience and feels like being at a larger HBCU has opened doors he didn't even know existed!
