Seeking the cheapest HBCU to attend in Texas, any suggestions?

So, I've always been fascinated by the sense of community at HBCUs and I have family in Texas. I'm curious if there's an affordable HBCU there. Could use some help figuring out which HBCU in Texas is the cheapest. Anyone have any insights or resources they could share?

How exciting that you're considering HBCUs for your college experience! They certainly offer a unique and enriching atmosphere. While I'm not in Texas, I did some research for a friend's child recently who was in a similar situation. Costs can vary depending on whether you qualify for in-state tuition or not, so make sure to check that out.

As far as I'm aware, Prairie View A&M University often comes up as one of the more affordable options. It's part of the Texas A&M University System, and its in-state tuition can be quite reasonable. Another you might look at is Texas Southern University in Houston. But remember, 'cheapest' isn't just about tuition. Consider the total cost of attendance, which includes room, board, and other fees. Sometimes scholarships and financial aid can make a slightly more expensive school become the cheaper option in the long run.

Definitely reach out to the financial aid offices at these schools to get a clear picture of the net cost for you. They're there to help and can give you the most accurate information on scholarships and aid that you might qualify for. Best of luck with your search and decision!
